Yoga Bondage At Yellowmead.

Barefoot sub practising naked yoga bondage on yellowmead.

Yesterday post for Barefoot’s bondage A-Z was about the functional X-Friction. Today I’m getting up to mischief with Loki for some naked yoga bondage at Yellowmead.

It may come as a surprise, but yoga wasn’t even on my radar for this post. I had become so tied up thinking about the Yuki knot and the Y-Friction. But I really wanted to properly include Loki in my A-Z April challenge and so, with restrictions easing (and our twice weekly testing complete) we took a trip to Dartmoor. I’d set him the job of thinking up a location beginning with Y. I thought perhaps we could incorporate one of the earlier options into our rope creations.

I followed him through the winding lanes.

Then we yomped (another Y) across the open farmland to Yellowmead, chatting to the spring lambs as we went. The map told us there was meant to have a stream running here, and a footbridge, and mud, and… but with all of the dry weather we’ve been experiencing recently, the stream bed was dried up. Not quite what we had anticipated, but checking out the surrounding area it became clear that this would play to our (my) advantage.

You see, the ground, between the tussocks, was covered in soft Sphagnum moss. Patches were soggy, but looking closer we discovered a comfortable patch with which to work.

A beautifully sheltered sun trap.

Loki, who walks around this area often, had never seen it, and though, from slightly higher ground, you can see the imposing Tors and the tiny climbers scaling one of the rock faces, from our spot you could only hear the shouts blown in on the wind.

We were chatitng about ties, and what we would work towards, when he made a shape with his body. Something sparked in my mind. “That’s like one of my favourite yoga poses” I laughed, before rolling into pigeon pose. I love naked yoga, and outdoors rope. Combining the two… genius!

And with that a plan was born.

Mind you, it took a moment for the penny to drop, and for me to realise that Yoga starts with… Y!

Loki started by tying my left leg into a futomomo. Then covered my legs with a sheet for warmth as he fashioned a hands-free TK, so I could manoeuvre myself into position. Once I was comfortable he tied in my hands, and I stretched forward into not-quite-pigeon-pose. “Can you touch the ground with your nose?” he asked. My answer was to face plant into the grass. Stretching out, he caught some moments. I’m sure you can imagine the laughter in some of them, given my discomfort and total lack of elegance!

Reaching my body back up, stretching into as deep a back bend as possible…

This was the moment my mouth decided to ask him to tie in my foot. First though, I needed a rest. My foot was starting to go to sleep. Childs pose has never felt so comfortable, and with sensation restored I told him that we had bought some more time.

He tied my ankle, and then looped it through the back of the TK. Next, he handed me the end so I could release the tension as soon as I needed. But as he set up the camera I pulled it tighter. Then again, and then a little more before my bound hands couldn’t reach further up the rope to add tension.

Oh lord, it hurt. It hurt so good!

This is the kind of sensation that I’ve been searching for, that I have previously mentioned I’m working towards. Loki and I both felt like our rope explorations had taken a giant leap on that afternoon. And we got so many great pictures. The one I’ve shared today is one of my top 5 images from the afternoon, and the last one he took. Strong and sexy, confident and authentic; these are the words that spring to mind when I look at myself here. I think it even trumps my previous favourite rope photo he and I have created.

My tone changed quite abruptly, as I gave him a one minute warning.

He was under no illusions that it was time to remove the ropes, and drape the sheet over me. My bound thigh was shaking in it’s wraps, and my torso ached, but what a wonderful way to remind myself what it is to be alive?!

Once I’d landed and we had snacked and rehydrated, we headed off for more craggy miles in the late afternoon sun. What a glorious day. So many smiles, and so much joy.

I appreciate that naked yoga bondage at Yellowmead (or any other location) may not be for everyone. And that’s ok! What I hoped to share in my A-Z challenge was my love of ropes, and how it has changed my world for the better. Not just sharing some of the ties I’ve learnt, but showing the confidence I have developed as well as friendships which have sprung forth from this hobby of mine. I certainly hope that you feel inspired to find something that sets your soul on fire. Rope or baking or… anything really!

  1. Oh I adore this! Thanks so much for sharing such insight on the shoot and your journey there! I’ve not ventured into outdoor bondage, but this makes me wanna go outside with my camera and a rope, ASAP.

  2. You do look fierce and strong in that image! I had to smile reading it took a while to realized yoga starts with y… just the kind of thing I would do too. I always say I am the last to realize the obvious 😉
