Can The Alfa Deliver? A Sohimi Review

Do you remember my double ended vibrator review from last year? Well, I was so impressed with the Gabi that when Sohimi got in touch again, to see if I’d like to review another product for them, I was very keen. This time I was invited to trial the Alfa. A clitoral sucker with a thrusting vibrator attached for good measure.

I’m game for any experiment, and happily agreed to test out the product though I had minimal expectations. Clitoral suckers don’t tend to do much for me, but the thruster looked great. And if all I got was an “oh, that’s nice” I have friends I could send the Alfa along to for a more varied- and fairer- opinion. (Spoiler: I still have this toy in my lube stained grip.)

First glance at the Alfa.

When it arrived, It had the same unassuming and basic packaging style as my previous Sohimi vibrator. The silicon toy nestled in thin moulded plastic, slid into a cardboard box with the cable inside too. I knew it would take a couple of hours to charge, and took the time to inspect my new toy while it did so.

The first thing of note is that the charger has been slightly upgraded. It is the same magnetic attachment as you might expect, commonly used by different brands, and while you could use these charging cables if you’ve got them lying around, it’s worth noting that Sohimi have made their magnets more powerful so the charger doesn’t absent-mindedly relieve itself of duty. That also meant I was able to pick up this modest looking toy and inspect it carefully during the charging process, not wasting a moment of my time.

The clitoral sucker end fits snugly in the palm of my hand. On the reverse, above the charging point, are the three control buttons. From top to bottom these power the sucking head, the vibration patters and the thrusting. When powered down you need to press one of these buttons for three seconds to activate the device. After that a tap on each button will start the relevant motor, further taps of the button will scroll you through the patterns. To turn them off you must press and hold each button in turn for three seconds.

It seems to be Barefoot Proof!

The clitoral stimulation “mouth” is oval, measuring 12mm across, and 16mm from top to bottom. Inside there is a small silicon tongue which moves as pressure builds and releases with the sucking motion. There are five sucking intensities to choose from, and, as I pressed it to my finger for testing, I found myself hoping that I would experience the mindblowing orgasms everyone tells me they achieve through suction stimulation.

The silicon housing that connects the vibrator with the head is 25cm long, giving plenty of length for positioning either end differently. The penetrative part is about 14cm at its longest, with approximately 12mm of thrust, of which there are 9 variations. As it retracts the toy bulges and creates delightful ridges which I could only assume would make up for the lack of stimulation I had imagined for the head. There are ten vibration patterns in total. I prefer a steady rumble in low, medium or high intensity and was suitably catered for.

With a charge time of 1.5 to 2 hours providing an hour of battery life, it wasn’t long before I could trial this new, and intriguing piece of equipment.

Taking the Sohimi Alfa for a test run?

It had been a little while since I’d made time for pleasure, but given my history with suction I figured this would only be a good thing. However, it was late and I was tired. The plan was to give it a quick trial run before sleep, I definitely wouldn’t be climaxing, that wasn’t even on my radar, so hopefully this would just be a nice way to wind down before sleep overtook me.

While testing out the individual options of the toy I found that the suction seemed to feel more than just “nice” as I’ve described this kind of pleasure before. The thrusting vibrator had me melting from the inside pretty quickly, and the no-nonsense vibrations worked pretty well solo too. The vibrations and the thrusting added a new layer before I dropped back to just the suction again. I marvelled at how my clit seemed to have sprung to life with the suction. Not wanting to break the seal I groped around with a finger for another power button, intending to find the vibrator but instead starting up the thrusting. How wrong I was.

The suction alone, isn’t quite enough to tip me over the edge. But damn if it doesn’t get me close. This reaction is new to me, and I’ve tried a number of suction toys, none getting me past the “that’s nice, but I’m never in a million years going to cum” stage.

Don’t let the insertible size put you off. As an aspiring size queen I was quite astonished at the feelings of fullness. The length of thrust is about half an inch, which doesn’t seem like a lot. Certainly, if your fucking came with a cock wielding lover, the plunging would be significantly deeper. But what a fully erect penis misses is the gathering of the materials as it pulls back, the resulting G-spot massage elicits spasms and moans in double quick time. And the powerful vibrations knocked my socks off too.

When you combine the three powerhouses together I can’t not orgasm. No matter how much erotic energy I discharge in advance.

Surely that doesn’t include shower play?

OK, you’re right. It doesn’t. I have spoken before about how I wouldn’t choose to play in the shower. Water washes away natural lubricant, and makes everything squeaky. However, I like to present as many observations as possible. This toy is splash proof rather than submersible so I can’t fully recommend bathroom fun but I will say that the water increased the suction over my clit. Which was fabulous!

Saying that, I do have voluptuous labia.

This means things get a little crowded when in a standing position. So I need a hand to stretch my lips away, plus one for each of the separate internal and external parts. However, I would guess that if your mons is less plump then you wouldn’t need three hands? Using just the clitoral stimulating head- with its stronger suction- I was, however, able to make my legs turn to jelly. A perfect warm up for after I left the steamy room and lay down on fresh sheets… And finally, the silicon doesn’t have much drag to it’s surface, it also didn’t squeak during penetration. So two strong selling points for shower-play fans.

Finally I decided to give it a test run over a recent zoom call with friends.

Interestingly we each had a different toy in mind. SexyS had her favourite Womanizer, a toy which she always brings to our playtime. LovelyL had her wand and vibrator.
