Magic Lover Bringing Fantasies To Life

The world is a funny place, don’t you think? Back at the start of the September I was thinking about my wishlist, dreaming of how I can fulfil those desires. And now I am the proud owner of my very own Magic Lover thrusting dildo. Thank you to the team Bestvibe UK for sending me this toy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Having had my mind blown by the Angels’ Wings, the last product I tested for Bestvibe, it’s fair to say that this toy had big shoes to fill. Fortunately, the magic lover is very different and so I was able to manage my expectations accordingly. Looking at the product listing on Bestvibe I had a sneaking suspicion I would enjoy the toy, regardless of how the thrusting worked. However, what I didn’t consider is where my mind would take me as I put it through its paces. Before I tell you about that though, let me introduce this thrusting dildo properly…

As always, Bestvibe sent my package in discreet, simple packaging. Tearing open the plastic envelope to retrieve the box of treasure I saw that inside was a little less low profile. The black cardboard box was emblazoned with “Sex Time” and “Intimate Lover”. Quite the opposite from the plain black box of the mermaid butt plug there was no way I could accidentally leave this carton on the sideboard.

Soon I had the top open and removed the contents which consisted of six items:

• dildo
• suction cup
• connecting clip
• remote control
• charging cable
• instructions.

The magic lover is quite a handful.

The entire vibrator measures 30.5cm from charging port to tip, with an insertable length of 17cm. The shaft circumference measures 13cm, which translates to a diameter of 4.1cm. The vibrator weighs in at 394g, with the connecting clip and suction cup it comes to 474g. Not surprising when you consider the motors inside. The insertable shaft and balls are made from Silicone, and the handle and clips are ABS. With a rating of IPX5 it is water resistant rather than waterproof.

The shaft has a delightfully soft and squidgy outer layer, encasing the hard interior. This is where the motors are housed, and the thrusting equipment which delves to a depth of 1.5cm. I would later go on to test the volume and, with both motors running at their most intense, this registers at 57.7dB. Also, on the website Bestvibe state it’s a heating toy but I’ve poured over the instructions and can’t find information on this function. Likewise, my incessant fiddling hasn’t turned up results either.

Before I did anything else the batteries needed charging, so I removed the rubber cap from the charging port and inserted the USB compatible cable. While the light flashed away I popped over to the webpage to check out what I’d gotten myself into. The instructions state that full battery is achieved after three hours, and from that you get one hour of thrusting and vibrating joy.

What’s this about vibrating and thrusting joy?

There are eight intensities and patterns to scroll through with each of these options, and you can have one, the other or both going at the same time.

There are three increasing intensities of vibration, followed by five patterns. The thrusting side of things offers eight different patterns, two of which mirror that thing that lovers sometimes do- pausing mid stroke to tease and frustrate a needy pussy. Grrrr, who knew tech could be such a meanie.

While this may have caused a little frustration it should be noted that you can scroll past these patterns easily, as with most sex toys. And once the vibrator is switched on, the remote control is just as good as the buttons on the handle. You just keep pressing the desired button until you hit the intensity or pattern that you are looking for. Press and hold each to power down the corresponding motor too. Getting tired of the mean, teasing shaft? You can switch it off and enjoy the vibrations and do the thrusting with your body while the holder keeps your magic lover in position for you. And you can easily unclip it from the holder if you choose to do the thrusting work manually.

The handle for the vibrator clips into the holder quickly and easily. Released in the same way. The website boasts a whopping 145 degrees of adjustable positioning and I think it’s pretty close. I can’t verify this as my child either has his protractor in school or is at home with it. But counting the clicks as I rotate the clipped in magic lover gives me a pretty good guess-timate.

The holder can be fixed in place by a suction cup secured with a handle that has a twisting motion. I’ve tried really hard to live up to my reputation here, but even I can’t affix it to my mirror wrong. On all of my tests it has refused to budge until released. The most notable is the first outing where I drained the battery (One hour) uploaded videos to the drive I share with Sir, wrote him a long email, went out for a run, had lunch, showered… It wasn’t until I returned to my room to dress that I realised I’d left my magic lover attached to the mirror. And it was still firmly positioned waiting for further use. (Or more to the point, waiting for a good clean)

Which leads me on quite nicely to cleaning…

I mentioned earlier that it has a water-resistant rating of IPX5. This means it is “certified for protection against low pressure jets of water from any angle for three minutes.” (Thanks to Headphone city for the explanation.) Personally, I’d still avoid getting water on the charging port end of the handle, but it’s nice to know that I can relax a little while washing it down with warm water and toy cleaner or anti-bacterial soap.

Can the magic lover really bring fantasies to life?

However, if I was a fan I would be disappointed that it doesn’t warm through as the website states. The vibrations are intense, and the soft outer with firm central core does feel quite natural to my inner walls. Also, the glans does trigger my g-spot when thrusting manually. For me, though, it’s a stop gap toy. Should it break I probably wouldn’t replace it like-for-like. My passions involve intense stretching and hard thrusting, so I’d prefer a fatter, fiercer fuck. But it doesn’t take away from the multi-dimensional pleasure it brings. It’s a sturdy item which I don’t think will break any time soon. And for that I am grateful. I’ve lots more fantasies to create!
