Life Lesson #6: Wonderful People

Sexy one piece lingerie for Life Lesson #6: Wonderful People

“There are amazing, wonderful people in all walks of life; some familiar to us and others not. Stretch yourself and really get to know people. People are in many ways our greatest treasure.”

~~Bryant McGill~~

This week I celebrated my birthday. It started on a high, and was full of things that bring me joy. It didn’t take long for before I was reminded of all of the wonderful people in my world in so many ways. And yet at the end of the day I was feeling very emotional. The following day I felt reassured to learn that I’m not the only one to feel overwhelmed around their birthday, but I couldn’t understand why. Sometimes not knowing why you’re feeling a certain way is ok. On this occasion I was happy to leave it at that.

Later in the week I was looking through my phone at the various conversation threads I had through the day. Calls, texts, emails, pictures from my time with the boys, social media… I was blown away.

There are so many wonderful people in my world!

The picture at the top is one I took on the evening of my birthday. I was feeling pretty, sexy and flirtatious. I decided to share for LiFE. I’m proud of this little find. Primarks finest, and in the sale last year. I went shopping with a fabulous friend. He was searching for a dress and lingerie, I was looking for a cosy jumper. I got distracted by this piece… Anyway, I digress.

Looking at this picture, even in the gentle light of my lounge, I am fascinated by the changes I see in my body. I celebrated my 40th scavenger hunt post this week, and also remembered a time when I was unhappy and alone. However, Six years have passed since then, and my body has expanded and shrunk considerably. The body I see now is nothing like the one that I realised I loved, on my first club visit when I was at my heaviest. But what we don’t see in this image is the changes that have happened inside. And those changes have been facilitated by these beautiful souls who I have been fortunate enough to meet along the way. My mum often asks how I met certain people. My standard response of “I’m not sure, we just kind of found each other” seems to satisfy her.

Some people collect trinkets on their travels, and I seem to collect people.

There is a lot of truth in the quote I have shared. It is a lesson I have learnt over the last few years. There are so many great, interesting and truly wonderful people in the world. All we need to do is put ourselves out there and meet them.

I can not express the joy I feel at having so many amazing and inspirational friends in my world.
