Excited About Ebi Shibari

Excited about ebi shibari with swl in bondage

Yesterday we looked at my love of the delightful double column tie for barefoot’s bondage A-Z. Today I’m getting excited about Ebi shibari, and wanted to share this tie with you.

Recently I’ve been getting really itchy fingers for rope.

I’ve caught up with a friend via zoom, learnt some great new skills. And then there are the little self ties which have graced my evenings. But what I’ve been missing is the physical contact with others.

I’m really lucky that during the lockdown one of my best friends is my support bubble. You’ve met SWL before; she’s helped with many scavenger hunt images and has enjoyed rope and wax with me. But she also has a love of rope. I approached her for support with a selection of images this month, and she was more than happy to help!

The first one that I got excited about was Ebi Shibari.

Having tied this previously I was keen to see if I could recreate this historic punishment with her. Known as the “shrimp” or “prawn” tie, because of the position that the criminal (or in my case consenting bunny) is bound in. Legs crossed, and bound at the ankles. Arms bound behind the back, tightly bound in a box tie. Then, a final line binds the chest harness to the ankles.

Short term bondage, in this position, is sweet discomfort.

Fun for those of us who enjoy a certain kind of suffering. There is very little room for movement, save wriggling, jiggling and, maybe, rolling over. So on top of the physical discomfort there is an added layer of vulnerability and exposure.

We adapted the ebi tie slightly, to leave her arms free. Comfort and stability were the name of the game here. Next time I may not be so kind.

    1. The first time I tied this (coming later in the month) was much crueller… it’s definitely a dun game. For the rigger, at least N x

  1. I’m really enjoying the ties you share! There are so many options and it can feel overwhelming, you do a great job at keeping things simple.

    1. Thank you Jae. I have to keep it simple, my brain and hands wouldn’t keep up otherwise.
I try to remember that even the most complicated of ties are just a combination of single, double and triple column ties. With some hitches and weaving thrown in for good measure.

  2. Beautiful pose. I especially liked the combination of loose hair and rope. And also the overall color scheme of this picture is very attractive.

    1. I did! It’s coming… 😊 I think we were particularly mean to you that night- such fun!
