It’s always a pleasure to hear from the team at Betty’s Toy Box. Especially when they give me the opportunity to review an item for them. This week I’m taking a look at the Ring Pop Powerful Vibrating Plug With Finger Loop and sharing my fair and honest thoughts here for you.

So, what is the Ring Pop?

The Ring Pop is a silicon insertible which, when held upright looks a little like a chess pawn. It is a slim toy, with a bulbous end and two pronounced yet smooth ridges as you travel down to the base. The base is flared which makes it safe for anal play, but don’t limit yourself to rear end fun. Yes, I know… it’s product name includes plug, but you can use these in any hole that makes you feel good.

With twelve vibration intensities and patterns to choose between it’s hard to imagine that I wouldn’t have a little moisture building up. But the finger loop below the flared base makes it easy to hold no matter how wet you get! And speaking of getting wet, this toy is waterproof so it should stand up to the toughest conditions. As well as playing in the bath, shower, sea, puddles…

When I opened the parcel, postage as discrete as always, I I found a neat package, detailing exactly what was inside. The purple toy within, it said, came with a 5 year warranty, petite shaft with generous bulby rings. All set for a wet and wild ride, given its waterproof nature. Opening the box I found the toy hidden from view in a hygiene bag. Hastily I unwrapped it and took it in my hands. With my hand against the base I wrapped my fingers around the silicon shaft, almost completely concealing it from view. Setting it to charge I checked the instructions over. It pleased me greatly to see the first charge would take just an hour. Excellent news! Playtime would come quickly.

So what did I think of it?

I want to preface this review with a note of caution. I’ve been enjoying anal play for my whole adult life, and while I’m not as stretchy as once I was, my rear end is quite accustomed to intrusions of a sexual nature.

Often times anal play can get a little tricky, using lube and the long reach doesn’t always lend itself to a good grip so the toy can be difficult to handle. The beauty of a finger loop means that, following a slathering of my current water-based lubricant of choice, I was able to maintain a grip on the smoothly textured silicon handle.

The end of this plug is shaped in such a way that the first press inwards led to a satisfying pop.

Pressing further my sphincter yielded to the ridges, which comfortably eased their way inwards. The flared base providing a reminder that I’d reached full depth I held on tight and worked it in and out. At it’s widest point the ring pop measures 12.5cm in circumference, or 4cm in diameter; the ridges felt quite pleasant, as they gently massaged my tightest of holes.

Settling it in at its fullest I found the power button which is located beneath the ring.

Initially pointing upwards, towards the front of my body, I found it hard to press with my thumb. Turning the ring so the power button pointed down my finger pressed it on with ease, holding for three seconds to turn it on before exploring the different inensities and patterns, of which there are twelve. The ninth press led me to make a shift away from the steady intense vibrations I prefer to a deep rumbly pattern.

Next I got to work pleasuring myself with a vaginal vibrator. All the while, sensations combined through my perineum, and when I added the wand it was with great difficulty that I held off the orgasm. I’d promised myself some edging time so didn’t want to let go so soon. Each time I got close everything would contract, as it does, and then I would realise the plug had slipped out. There was nothing for the thick ridge of muscle to grip onto behind the last ridge which is just 25mm away from the flared base. Reaching down to reinsert this toy, I had to laugh.

The ring pop had popped out of my ring!

Thinking of the slightly bulbous tip nestling in my asshole reminds me… The shape does lead to some interesting fantasy creations. In my head, at least, the idea of playing chess against someone and the “winner takes it all” came to mind at one point… however, I digress!

When angled into my perineum or g-spot the vibrations are pretty strong. Aside from a couple of the patterns, which seem slower, rumbly, they are buzzy. To me it’s gentle, quiet buzz. When it’s worked over my g-spot, which happens with ease given its 10cm length, it does help build the pressure beautifully. The vibrations didn’t bring me to the edge alone, but were a very adept additional layer of pleasure.

What are my final thoughts?

I was really excited to try the ring pop. The ring was of particular interest as I often struggle to get the right grip and/or direction when thrusting anally. It proved itself as I was able to pinpoint my pleasure spots just as I like it. The vibrations were a surprise, the patterns especially. Perhaps they’re not quite be powerful enough to bring me to orgasm, but that’s not a problem for me. Finding new waves, or patterns, to enjoy the growing heat of pleasure is exciting. It is a compact toy.

I can see it being a lot of fun for anal players looking for less stretch and fullness. The type you get with a more traditional plug shape. I know there are days when I want to just… play… rather than stretch. For this reason I know that I will be pulling out the ring pop at times like this!
