Breaking Me Down Raising Me Up

Breaking down and raising up header image shows a lady lying on the woodland floor covered in fallen leaves wearing only little black knickers.

Laying there, discarded on the woodland floor, I melted into the debris of fallen leaves. You’d used me, tormented me, delighted in my suffering, but now I was cast adrift on the mulchy oceans. You start by breaking me down, then finish by raising me up.

We both know this, anyone watching on can also see the woman that you’ve shown me I can believe in.

I’ve not been discarded. Your use and torment, was as much a delight for us both as my suffering. And now you’re there, holding space. Giving me room to settle, lay down roots, and rise stronger. Each and every time you’re breaking down the barriers, you’re also laying foundations for me to rebuild on firmer footings. Bigger, bolder, fiercer, stronger.

After breaking down my walls you take your place, watching over me with a quiet curiosity. My steady sentinel of Dominance. Watching, learning, and waiting. Pausing for just the right time to reach out and touch my soul again.

These mental meanderings inspired me to share this picture by Dark Venice, you can find the colour version here: Abandoned In The leaves.

    1. It’s only since posting that I’ve remembered a conversation I had with this tog, about forests feeling like nature’s cathedrals.

Thank you for hosting #SWAP I’m really enjoying all of the posts.
