It’s Halloween and the witching hour is upon us. Unlike last year, where I was naked and natural in the great outdoors, with zero editing at all, 2021 couldn’t be more different. Clothed, indoors, up a pole and edited into a fantasy scene. Clearly a witch zooming through the sky on a broomstick. In both photos I’m confident and utterly at ease- aside from working hard to stay up the pole! But this year I am doing something that even three months ago was just a long held daydream.
So, I’m pretty new to pole, and my “witching hour” was more like 15 seconds, four times, as I practised the move. Thanks to an enthusiastic teacher, I finally managed to climb the pole and pull off this pose. With a big smile on my face. My instructor had mentioned that fancy dress was optional before the class. In the grand scheme of things I’ve only just discovered how much I love being me, I’m not quite ready to pretend to be anyone else. So I decided not to dress up! But when I arrived she explained the plans for the evening, among other things she wanted to show us how to ride the broomstick! And I was there in my sports wear (and new heels.) No matter, she would be editing photos anyway, to make sure we were all immortalised as witches.
The next morning she sent this picture… Mission accomplished- Thank you Issy!

Brilliant! You have to live a pole for witchy images and it’s never easy to stay still enough for them either!
It's the first time I've managed to climb the pole (or anything actually. I couldn't even climb the rope in primary school) but so, so much fun. And definitely not the last I'll share on the subject.
