‘Tis the season for Blackberry picking, again. This is one of the images that got lost in amongst the photos in my phone for so long. When I found it I knew I wanted to wait for the berries to ripen this year before sharing it. This image is one of about a dozen bramble pictures we took that day, not the last one, but my favourite! There were just so many bushes to choose from.
I did end up feeling like Goldilocks though. Either the angles weren’t right, or the fruits weren’t quite plump enough, or my top was covering a nipple, or… It wasn’t until SWL and I had settled with a cuppa and looked through the photographs that I realised how much I liked this one. The textures, colours and crinkles on my face.
A year later I can’t remember what made my eyes crease with laughter. I do recall the joy that I felt in this moment. Not only was I getting a mischievous picture for my blog with my friend, but I also increased my sense of submission to Sir. This was originally his idea after all!
It is always exciting when I find a post by Jade in the list of previous participants. She was the host of Scavenger Hunt when I started participating after all. When I read her post- February 7- Why is TBT so hard?– I saw what a double edged sword these pictures were for her. The joy of public exposure for the men in her life, yes! But also the pain of looking back at happier times.
