Why is finding the perfect pair of knickers such a chore? And when you find them, why does the shop halt production just before you return to stock up? And why do they fall apart – immediately after you discover the store no longer sells them? And why oh why do they always sit wrong after an intense weekend of cake eating? (Just me? Oh, ok then…)

There is something about these glorious knickers though. And it’s not just that they are still going strong after three years. Nor is it to do with the fact you can still buy them! They are a joy to wear. I always grin when I pull them from my drawer. What’s not to love? They’re funky and colourful, crotch-less yet comfortable, and seriously good quality but playful too. But while I love wearing these, I also love taking them off. And not because they are uncomfortable… As Elle Macpherson said:

I like colourful knickers, but most importantly a great pair of knickers should be taken off with more joy than they were put on.

And on that note, I’m going to see if taking off today’s knickers brings plenty of joy…

(Or at least more than when I pulled them on this morning.)
