Something that I have always been lucky to own is a set of strong legs. For the first 20 years of my life these were mainly used for mountain biking, but that stopped when I married. Over those years they gave me the base I needed to withstand the flood waters of domestic abuse as they raged around me. Towards the end of that time I took up running, and more recently pole. The muscles in my legs may not be the most feminine looking, but they are capable of great things, and that is attractive to me.
Life, like running, is very much a series of steps, putting one foot in front of the other over and over again until you get where you’re going. Sometimes you might follow the map, other times you might feel your legs are strong, your soul is brave. It’s at these times you’re prepared to mark your own trail.
Stand up and walk. Keep moving forward. You’ve got two good legs. So get up and use them. You’re strong enough to make your own path.
