Gosh, it’s come around quick! I’m so pleased to see February PhotoFest is back for another year. I had my fingers crossed, when I was reflecting on 2023 and setting my blogging goals for the year. Of course, it has taken me by surprise! My vanilla world goals, not to mention unexpected joyful adventures, have been filling my days. Before I had finished welcoming in the new year January had zipped past. Fortunately I had a plan for how to structure my month. Breaking it down into weeks, I decided the first would be centred around the selfie.
Self shot images are where it all started.
Before I began modelling, before I even had friends to share my adventures with. They were made at the request of S, starting small and gradually gaining confidence in my exhibitionism.
For the first time I have chosen to use Thursdays to revisit old photos, like this header image. The idea of #ThrowbackThursday has always appealed, but this year, my sixth as a blogger and my fifth February Photo Fest, I have finally decided to revisit images with you. I’m really excited to see some of the older posts that I rarely enjoy.
I first shared the header image, a selfie taken after I made a wax pouring video, in 2022.
Again for February PhotoFest, I wanted to share my journey to self-acceptance under the nurturing care of S.
It was for him that I took my first selfie, and under his watchful gaze I’ve excelled at self acceptance. Even if I am occasionally out of focus and blurred at the edges! Occasionally I need pointing in the right direction again, but for the most part I’m able to follow his guidance without further reminders
Me, Self Acceptance Through Selfies
So, what can you expect this week? Well, Selfie Week will include self-shot photography – shocking right? All photos will mean something important to me. I shall try to share the feelings you can’t see through the lens; the stories, the thoughts, even the mind monsters.
So, all that being said, welcome to my February PhotoFest 2024. I hope you enjoy.
Do you remember this photo from before? I find myself wondering which of my self shot images you would have chosen to kick off Selfie week?
Returning for another year, welcome to my fifth February PhotoFest effort. If you would like, follow the links to explore past years:
