This week, TMI Tuesday is asking questions for which we want to know the answers. Read on if you’d like to know some random facts about me, in both the vanilla context as well as the kinkier side of things.
1. What’s invisible but you wish you could see?
Do you know the smell, when the rain comes after a hot spell? The air is filled with an incredible scent. It’s called petrichor and is one of my favourite natural aromas. Sometimes I can inhale a fragrance and see what it looks like, but not this one. I wonder how this invisible delight would appear to me.
2. Would you rather watch your neighbor(s) having sex while you are in the same room or anonymously watch your parents having sex?
Definitely watching my neighbours having sex while I’m in the same room. I have a fair few neighbours so this would keep me busy for a while…
3. For what are you nostalgic?
In case question one has left you in any doubt I get nostalgic over scents. I considered music, but that takes me to a particular head space at a point in time rather than sending my mind swirling off into reverie.
4. What is an unwritten rule where you work?
The owner of the business I work in (pre-lockdown) manages to make everything look incredibly stressful when it isn’t anywhere near as challenging. So I guess his unwritten rule would be “Don’t get as flustered as me!”
5. What is an unwritten rule or mutual understanding in your home?
We have a written rule: No whining!
The accompanying unwritten rule: Anyone heard whining will be mocked mercilessly until they stop.
6. Which body part do you wish you could detach and why?
Currently… the second toe on my left foot. It is a nuisance!
Bonus: What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home?
I worked in mental health for a number of years and was privy to a lot of very interesting homes and lifestyles. Mostly extremely unconventional. However, the strangest thing that I have seen in someone else’s home is still garden gnomes. They pop up all over the place and I still find them weird…
